July 5 MoR. From the archive comes one of the more distinctive Homegrown Music sessions. The series’ emphasis has been on regional artists, but we occasionally invite some notable performers whose recordings have been featured on WVIA’s Mixed Bag program. MoR are a duo from Iceland who consists of only electric bass and vocals. They do very distinctive and beautiful arrangements of everything from songs by Cyndi Lauper and Duran Duran to Icelandic folk music in this memorable 2007 session.

July 19 Mountain Wave. A trio of veteran rock musicians from the Upper Delaware River Valley who got together in 2015, Mountain Wave made their Homegrown Music debut in 2017 with first-rate original material than runs from roots-rock to jam-band influenced. This is an encore of that session.

July 26 B.D. Lenz. Jazz rock fusion guitarist (and high-school math teacher) B.D. Lenz has released ten albums of his original music, some featuring well-known guests such as Randy Brecker and Will Lee. Over the years, his music has been used in numerous TV episodes, including “Breaking Bad” and “Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations.” This segment is an encore of a 2009 trio session spotlighting his original compositions.
